NOTICE: McIntyre is under a Level 1 Drought Response: In order to conserve water outside watering is allowed only between 4:00pm and 10:00 am. This applies to both commercial and residential water use, also keep in mind to regularly check for and repair leaks inside and outside. Don't leave tap running when shaving, brushing teeth and face washing. Only water your landscape when necessary and adjust sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk or street.

NOTICE: 2015 CCR Annual Water Quality Report are available at City Hall located at 102 Railroad Street.

Water bills are due on the 15th of each month, a late penalty of $5.00 applies after the 15th, Termination date is the 28th of the current month, bills will need to be paid prior to the 28th, Reconnect fee is $35.00 and is applied to terminated accounts for non-payment. Bill will have to be paid in full to have water restored.

The city of McIntyre strives to offer its citizens the highest quality of service and a safe water system.


Council meetings are the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, beginning at 5:00PM, If you would like to be placed on the Agenda for topics, you must call City Hall at 478-946-2037 prior to the meeting date.

Municipal Court is held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm. Ralph Jackson is the honorable Judge, and any discussions pertaining to the court date will need to be discussed either with the Clerk of Court Pamela Roberts at 478-946-2037, or Chief Wayne Amerson at 478-946-3483.

May Day Festival is May 6th, 2017 beginning at 10am. For More information please contact Linda Sanders at 478-946-2037. Applications are also available on the website. T-Shirts are pre-order only this year. Children to XL are $10.00, 1X and up are $13.00.

Mayor Horne called the meeting to order, led in prayer by Council member Eugene Moore

Present were:  Mayor  Vickie Horne; Council Members; Eugene Moore, Vickie Mixon,  John Carswell, and Rico Myrick, also present was Clerk, Pamela Roberts, Chief Wayne Amerson and City Attorney David McRee.


Minutes were presented from the November 18, 2013 meeting, motion to approve minutes as presented was made by Carswell, seconded by Myrick no corrections, no opposition, motion carried. 


Agenda presented no old business.



Moore had nothing to report.


Scott had nothing to report.


Carswell asked Pam had she heard from Tony about the lights. Pam stated she had not heard from him.


Myrick had nothing to report.


Mixon had nothing to report.


McRee had nothing to report.


Pam said that she had received the budget for the police department.  Myrick stated that he will get with Pam this week.

Mayor Horne asked to go into a close session for personnel issues.


It was motioned by Myrick to go into executive session for personnel issues, seconded by Scott no opposition, motion carried.

Meeting was called back to order by Mayor Horne at 5:05p.m., no motion, nor vote was taken while in executive session.


Mayor Horne asked will the city be going to the Christmas Parade in Milledgeville on tomorrow. She stated that the city does not have a float this year but the city had been taking a float. Moore asked if the parade was early. Mayor Horne stated yes. Pam stated that the parade is usually after the parade in Gordon. Scott asked if the float is ready. Pam stated that the city is taking a truck to the parade. Pam stated that it is no way the float will be ready by tomorrow. Myrick asked if the city was going to participate in the Irwinton Parade. Pam said yes it is on December 21, 2013. Scott asked what’s on the truck. Pam said nothing. Scott asked what truck the city is taking. Pam said the water truck. Mayor Horne said that it will have the city’s symbol and we will throw some candy.  Mayor Horne stated the city will not have the float ready this year.


Mayor Horne told Mryick that she is waiting on his budget.


Moore asked had the city heard anything on the easements. McRee said he had not heard anything since the meeting, he said that the surveyors may be still working on the drawings.


Martin from the Gallery asked had the city had the Christmas Party. Mayor Horne said that it will be on December 20, 2013. Mayor Horne said we have two from the fire department that are going to participate.  Pam stated that she told Ricky and Tommy that the city wanted them to participate with the city Christmas Party and they said that they would do their own. Myrick asked will the Christmas Party be at the city hall since the fire department is not coming. Mayor Horne said that the city had suggested the Senior Citizen Center and it cost $350.00, it is $200.00 to use the center and a $150.00 deposit that you get back after the event is over.  


Martin from the Gallery said that she was wondering what the city decided to do about the Christmas Party. Mayor Horne stated that letters were sent out inviting the fire department to the city Christmas Party. Martin said so that means that the city does not have to pay for the fire department Christmas Party. Mayor Horne stated that the city did its part. Myrick said that they were invited and they did not want to participate. Pam said that she called Billy Matthews today and Billy called Tommy. Billy was suppose to get back with her today and Pam said that she finally called him again about 4:00 p.m. and he said that he had not heard from anybody and that he had something to do on that date. Pam said that the city hall will be large enough to have the Christmas Party if we set up the serving tables outside in the hallway.

Martin from the Gallery asked is the dog catcher doing alright. Myrick said that it is going good.

Martin from the Gallery asked about the budget. Mayor Horne said that we have one more department to have the budget complete. Pam stated two; noting the fire department had not turned theirs in yet.


Myrick stated that he had spoken with Jeffery Hallman about the easement; he said that Mary Whipple said that this was her brother’s property and that her sister-in-law is still living. Carswell asked if the city received the letter to go out to talk to the people about the easements. Pam said that she received an e-mail with the updated addresses and Meg said that she would be getting the letter to the city soon. Carswell said that he had told some of the people that once the letters are mailed someone would be coming out to talk to them about the easements but he wanted to wait to get the letters before he started going out talking to the people. Myrick asked when is the ribbon cutting. Mayor Horne said it will probably be in the spring of the year. Mayor Horne said the holdup is going to be with the rail road. Mayor Horne said that she has a copy of the letter that was sent to the rail road department asking them to work with the city with the price and she will sign the letter and send it to them.


 Motion to adjourn with no further business was made by Myrick, seconded by Scott, no opposition, motion carried.
