NOTICE: McIntyre is under a Level 1 Drought Response: In order to conserve water outside watering is allowed only between 4:00pm and 10:00 am. This applies to both commercial and residential water use, also keep in mind to regularly check for and repair leaks inside and outside. Don't leave tap running when shaving, brushing teeth and face washing. Only water your landscape when necessary and adjust sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk or street.

NOTICE: 2015 CCR Annual Water Quality Report are available at City Hall located at 102 Railroad Street.

Water bills are due on the 15th of each month, a late penalty of $5.00 applies after the 15th, Termination date is the 28th of the current month, bills will need to be paid prior to the 28th, Reconnect fee is $35.00 and is applied to terminated accounts for non-payment. Bill will have to be paid in full to have water restored.

Council meetings are the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, beginning at 5:00PM, If you would like to be placed on the Agenda for topics, you must call City Hall at 478-946-2037 prior to the meeting date.

Municipal Court is held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm. Ralph Jackson is the honorable Judge, and any discussions pertaining to the court date will need to be discussed either with the Clerk of Court Pamela Roberts at 478-946-2037, or Chief Wayne Amerson at 478-946-3483.

May Day Festival is May 6th, 2017 beginning at 10am. For More information please contact Linda Sanders at 478-946-2037. Applications are also available on the website. T-Shirts are pre-order only this year. Children to XL are $10.00, 1X and up are $13.00.

Mayor Horne called meeting to order, led in prayer by Council member Eugene Moore.

 

Present were council members Vickie Mixon, Rico Myrick, Katherine Scott and Eugene Moore, Council member John Carswell arrived at 2:12.

 

Mayor Horne addressed the agenda and appointed Department Heads.

 

Mayor Horne appointed Myrick over the Water Department, Eugene Moore was appointed over Street Department, Katherine Scott was appointed over Personnel, Vickie Mixon was appointed over administration, and John Carswell was appointed over Recreation. Myrick asked Mayor if she would be over the Police Department, Mayor said that she would be over Police and Fire Departments. 

 

Mayor Horne asked clerk if budget had been run in the paper. Clerk explained that first it had to be approved by council to run as the 2012 proposed budget.

 

Discussion ensued among members of council concerning the 2012 proposed budget. Changes were made in the Water, Police and Street Departments that included the possible hiring of a full time employee in the street department, as well as health benefits and decrease in beautification. Water was increased to include training for Council member Myrick and part-time employee and Police department increased to cover the removal of the old police department. Members of council discussed the Library budget, and decided to leave the amount of $17,000 in the budget but asked clerk to bring request for payment from Library back to council for decision. Clerk informed council that Paws and Claws had asked to be on the agenda for Monday’s meeting and informed council that $2500.00 had been budgeted for Paws and Claws for 2012, after discussion, Mixon asked council if they wanted to increase the amount or leave as it is. Council decided to leave it as is.

 

Mixon made motion to advertise budget in paper with corrections, seconded by Scott, no opposition motion carried.

 

Motion to have public hearing on February 20th 2012 beginning at 4:45pm for the 2012 budget was made by Myrick, seconded by Carswell, no opposition, motion carried.

 

Mayor Horne asked council to decide whom they wanted for Mayor Pro-tem. Motion to appoint Council member Myrick as Pro-tem was made by Mixon, seconded by Moore, no opposition motion carried.

 

Mayor Horne presented council with the applications for the part-time positions for the Street, Water and Administration Departments. Each council member took time to read

over the applications. Mayor Horne advised council to pick the ones that looked good to them. After several moments of discussions Mixon and Carswell asked the clerk to select the ones that she thought would work best in the administration department and asked Moore to select for the street department. Roberts selected three for the administration department and Moore selected three for the street department. The city only received one for the water department. Clerk was advised to contact those selected and have them interview at the council meeting on Monday the 6th of February 2012.

 

 

With no other business to discuss, motion for adjournment was made by Mixon, seconded by Carswell, no opposition, motion carried.
